We believe managing your finances shouldn't feel overwhelming. Our approach is built on expertise, clarity, and care — we translate complex tax and accounting matters into plain language so you can make confident decisions. Our goal is to provide trusted solutions that free you to focus on what matters most: growing your business and securing your financial future. In short: Smart Strategies. Trusted Guidance.
We see ourselves as your trusted advisors for all things finance, not just a once-a-year tax preparer. That means proactive communication, year-round availability, and a relationship built on understanding your goals. Clients work with a team that takes the time to know their business and explains the "why" behind every recommendation.
Getting started is simple. Schedule A Consultation through our website or call us at 910.295.3697. We'll learn about your situation, explain how we can help, and outline clear next steps — no pressure, no jargon.
Pricing depends on the scope and complexity of your needs — a personal tax return looks very different from ongoing bookkeeping or CFO advisory work. For some engagements we can outline pricing up front, while others depend on a variety of factors or are handled on a time-and-charges basis as the work unfolds. We're always transparent about how a given engagement will be billed, and we'll discuss the right approach for your situation during an initial consultation so you know what to expect.
It varies by situation, but most clients provide prior-year tax returns, income documents (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s), business income and expense records, and any documentation for deductions or credits. Once you reach out, we'll send you a tailored checklist so you know exactly what to gather.
A lot of business owners think of bookkeeping as simply recording money in and money out. In reality, how those transactions are categorized — the accounts, or "buckets," they're sorted into — is what turns raw numbers into something useful. When your chart of accounts is set up thoughtfully and transactions are coded consistently, two important things happen.
First, your taxes get more accurate and more defensible. Properly categorized records make sure deductions land where they belong, that nothing is missed or misclassified, and that your filings hold up if they're ever questioned. Sloppy or lumped-together books often mean overpaid taxes, missed opportunities, or scrambling at year-end.
Second, your numbers become a decision-making tool. Clean, well-structured records let us analyze your business — margins, trends, where money is actually going, which parts of the business are performing and which aren't. You can't get meaningful insight out of disorganized data. Good bookkeeping is the foundation that makes real financial guidance possible; without it, even the best advisor is guessing. That's exactly why our bookkeeping and advisory work go hand in hand — we build the records right so we can actually help you steer the business with them.
Traditional accounting and bookkeeping look at what has already happened — recording and reporting your finances accurately. CFO Advisory looks forward: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow strategy, profitability analysis, and the financial decision-making that drives growth. It gives you the strategic horsepower of a Chief Financial Officer without the cost of a full-time hire.
Year-round. Tax season is only one part of a healthy financial picture. We're available throughout the year for bookkeeping, advisory, planning, and any questions that come up — so you're never left waiting until April for answers.
We treat the confidentiality and security of your financial data as a top priority. We prepare returns using Thomson Reuters professional tax software — an industry-leading, secure platform trusted by accounting firms nationwide — and we exchange sensitive documents through a secure, encrypted client portal rather than over regular email. For general correspondence we use Microsoft 365, and clients also have the option to message us directly through the portal. In short, your documents and information move through protected, professional-grade systems at every step — never left sitting in an unsecured inbox.
For tax preparation, you don't need to be on any particular accounting software to work with us. We prepare returns using Thomson Reuters UltraTax, and what we need from you is clean, accurate financials — once we have those, our tax team can prepare your return regardless of the system that produced them.
For day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting, our team works directly in QuickBooks Desktop (the traditional, locally installed version of QuickBooks), QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, and Zoho — the systems that fit small and mid-sized businesses best.
For controller, consulting, and CFO advisory work, we bring financial leadership to companies running more specialized and enterprise-level platforms such as Foundation, Trimble Viewpoint, Jonas, Sage, Acumatica, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, and SAP. In those engagements our role is strategic — financial oversight, analysis, and guidance that works alongside whatever system your business already relies on. If you use something not listed here, just ask.
Yes — and you're not alone. Many clients come to us behind on their books, with back taxes, or with prior-year returns to file or amend. We'll help you get caught up, back in compliance, and set up with systems so it doesn't happen again. Keep in mind there are time limits on how far back prior-year returns can be amended or refunds claimed, so the sooner you reach out, the more options you'll have.
We work for you — not the IRS. That sounds simple, but it shapes everything we do. A lot of people feel like tax preparation is just filling out forms for the government; we see it the opposite way. You're our client, and our job is to represent your interests, find every legitimate advantage available to you, and make sure you're never paying more than you should. We combine the technical expertise of a larger firm with the personal, relationship-driven service of a local partner, serve a wide footprint across the Carolinas and Southeast, and focus on clarity — making sure you actually understand your finances, not just receive them.
